Sarah Smith
Dr. Sarah E.K. Smith is Associate Professor and Canada Research Chair in Art, Culture and Global Relations at Western University (Canada). She leads the Practitioner Media Lab in the Faculty of Information & Media Studies, which is an incubator for co-producing research with artists and culture workers. Dr. Smith ’s research addresses cultural diplomacy, contemporary art and museums. Her publications include the monograph “Trading on Art: Cultural Diplomacy and Free Trade in North America” and the edited collection “Museum Diplomacy: How Cultural Institutions Shape Global Engagement”. Recent curatorial projects include “The Air of the Now and Gone” at the Carleton University Art Gallery and “From Remote Stars: Buckminster Fuller”, London and “Speculative Futures” at Museum London. Sarah is co‐founder of the North American Cultural Diplomacy Initiative and a member of the International Cultural Relations Research Alliance.
