Santiago Izaciga-Vega

Santiago Izaciga-Vega is a Colombian anthropologist, musician, and writer born in Bogota, Colombia. He holds a  bachelor degree in Music and Songwriting from the Fernando Sor School of Music in Colombia and a double major in Sociocultural Anthropology and Creative Writing from the University of Toronto, Canada. Currently, he is completing a MA in Sociocultural and Linguistic Anthropology at Western University (Canada). For over  a decade, Izaciga-Vega has worked professionally in the fields of education and language. He is an ESL instructor, researcher, and a certified translator (ATIO) at both the provincial and national levels in Canada , among other endeavors. Izáciga-Vega has been pleased and honoured to join the Surviving Memory project as part of the transcription and translation team during the Summer and Fall of 2025.
